isa is the front desk for independent hotels and condotels. Reservations live on a room tape, rates hold the price you quoted, payments add up, and housekeeping knows which rooms are ready.
One stay, from the first call to a clean room.
Booked
Take a walk-in, a call or a message. The room, the nights and each night’s price are saved with the reservation.
Arrives
Today shows who is due, whether their room is ready and what they still owe. Check them in and record the payment on the same reservation.
In house
Extra charges go on the folio. Shift notes stay with the reservation, so the night desk knows what the day desk promised.
Departs
Settle the balance and check out. The room goes to housekeeping until it is clean, and is free for the next arrival that same day.
Some mistakes shouldn’t be possible.
These rules are held by the database underneath isa, not only by the screen, so no shortcut, bug or busy shift can get around them.
- No room is sold twice.
- Two stays can never hold the same room on the same night. A departure day stays free for the next arrival.
- A quoted price stays quoted.
- Rates change by date. A reservation keeps the nightly prices it was booked at until someone deliberately re-quotes it.
- Money can’t be edited away.
- Recorded payments can’t be changed after the fact, and a payment can never exceed what the stay costs. Corrections are new entries.
- Your guests are yours alone.
- Each property’s records are walled off from every other workspace, row by row in the database.
